Josef Menglele.
Josef Mengele did research on twins and Gypsies demonstrating the quest for the genetic studies. Josef Mengele was known as the "Angel of Death". He would be at every selection when the new trains arrived at Auschwitz. After the victims were unloaded off the trains and stripped naked and put into the groups of men, women, and children, he would sort through the thousands of people. Most went straight to the gas chambers and others to labor in the camps. The twins, dwarfs, and uniquely physical people were selected to be assigned to the experimental blocks. In many ways the majority who where killed in the gas chambers were luckier than the survivors that had no idea what horrific things awaited them. The Different Experiments. Physicians from the German air force and from the German Experimental Institution for Aviation, conducted high-altitude experiments, using a low-pressure chamber, to determine the full altitude from which people from damaged aircraft's could parachute to safety. Scientists there carried out so-called freezing experiments using prisoners to find an effective treatment for hypothermia. They also used prisoners to test various methods of making seawater potable. Where the experiments were done. The experiments were done at many of the concentration and death camps. As many doctors were willing to do these dreadful experiments on unwilling prisoners. |
